What does “La Romo” stand for? Well, as you could’ve guessed one of my two last names is Romo and “La” is “The” in Spanish. For the majority of my life, I’ve always just been called Romo. The name Romo in our hometown is something to be proud of. With my older sister, Mom, and Dad setting precedence, we all just fell under the category of The Romos. At first, I was always angry that everyone would say “OH! You’re a Romo”, but as time went on I learned to have pride in being called Romo. A Romo is someone who always finds solutions to any problem, a Romo is someone who constantly pushes themselves, a Romo is someone who people look up to, and as my Dad always says in his pep talks, a Romo always finds a way. And well, here I am. Trying to find my way.
So hi, I’m Romo. Welcome to what I have created in four years in order to find my way.
But, if you haven’t looked at any of my other stuff, I’m Ashley (or Romo or even Ash). Whatever floats your boat. I’m a Senior Advertising and Branding major concentrating in Art Direction at SCAD in Savannah, GA. I’m going to be honest, writing about myself has always been somewhat scary to me because for most of my life I kind of just hung out in the shadows, but since coming to college I’ve learned that I’m very much someone who likes to take charge and is assertive when I need to be. In my time here at SCAD, I’ve not only curated my advertising portfolio, but also dipped my toes in other areas of design like Motion Graphics and this past year a little bit of CINEMA 4D.
